Schneider Electric: Leading in Sustainability with DJSI, Corporate Knights, and Platinum Ratings

Schneider Electric, a pioneer in energy management and automation's digital revolution, revealed its 2023 sustainability achievements alongside its annual financial report. The Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) score for the year surpassed expectations, reaching 6.13 out of 10, exceeding the targeted 6 out of 10. The company received recognition as a top performer from independent environmental, social, and governance (ESG) evaluators throughout the year.
 
Despite the challenges posed by record-high temperatures, Schneider Electric's robust performance underscores the necessity of collaborative efforts to decarbonize business operations and supply chains, mitigating the severe impacts of climate change and accelerating the transition to a more sustainable world.
 
As part of the Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) program, the company's solutions for electrification, digitalization, and automation have significantly reduced customers' carbon emissions, saving and avoiding 112 million tonnes in 2023 alone. Noteworthy progress has been achieved in transforming Schneider Electric's supply chain, with a 27% decrease in carbon emissions from its top 1,000 suppliers, a marked improvement compared to the 10% reduction in 2022. Moreover, 21% of the company's key supply chain partners now adhere to Schneider Electric's decent work standards.
 
Schneider Electric's commitment to responsible resource management is evident, with 63% of its product packaging now plastic-free and made from recycled cardboard. Additionally, the company's efforts to bridge the energy access gap have made significant headway, providing clean and reliable electricity to 46.5 million people worldwide through various initiatives. Furthermore, over 578,000 individuals have acquired new skills to address future energy challenges within their communities, reflecting Schneider Electric's dedication to empowering individuals and fostering sustainable development.

Schneider Electric continues to uphold its position as a sustainability frontrunner, maintaining its longstanding presence in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) and Corporate Knights’ Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World list for the 13th consecutive year. Additionally, it has garnered impressive ratings from Moody’s Analytics, CDP, and EcoVadis, earning a Platinum medal.
 
These accolades contribute to the company's incentive plans, emphasizing its dedication to sustainable performance in both the short and long term.
