08/27/2020

Johnson & Johnson has committed towards making improvements in its “supply chain” and expanding its “supply chain community” while possessing the ability to translate the “improvements into practice”.

Dailycsr.com – 27 August 2020 – Johnson & Johnson has been recognised as one of the organisations that has ensured that people around the globe received products needed for their health and safety through their strong supply chain in the wale of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gartner, Inc. is the “largest research and advisory company” in the world which recently honoured Johnson & Johnson, whereby the latter has been placed at number three in its “annual 2020 Supply Chain Top 25 list”. The said list highlights “exemplary global supply chains” among companies that have over “$12 billion in general annual revenue across industries”.

Furthermore, citing reason behind the feature, Gartner informed that Johnson & Johnson has committed towards making improvements in its “supply chain” and expanding its “supply chain community” along with the company’s ability to translate the “improvements into practice” just like they did during the “COVID-19 pandemic” response and partnered with “teams across the company and industry”.

Likewise, Johnson & Johnson is expanding its “global manufacturing scope” on COVID-19 vaccine as it establishes “new vaccine manufacturing capabilities” besides “scaling up capacity in other countries” aiming to supply over “one billion doses of a potential COVID-19 vaccine” across the world in 2021, once the vaccine is proven to be “safe and effective”.

In the words of the executive vice-president and chief officer of Global Supply Chain at Johnson & Johnson, Kathy Wengel:
“Over the past few years, our global supply chain has been working hard to continuously improve its operations and the supply chain community at large, while accelerating new levels of innovation in products, services and experiences for the doctors, nurses, patients and customers we serve. By building foundational capabilities in key areas like business continuity, digital and planning, not only have we been able to respond to the global pandemic, but we've ultimately been able to harness new levels of agility and get ahead of changing needs. This is a testament to the dedication of our supply chain teams around the world, who are doing their part to inspire hope in these uncertain times, and to the scale and stability of our business, even during this time of great change.”
