Paychex Supports Junior Achievement's Mission for Youth Financial Health in Key Markets

06/14/2023

Paychex, Inc., a prominent provider of comprehensive software solutions for managing human capital, including human resources, payroll, benefits, and insurance services, has recently declared its commitment to supporting Junior Achievement USA®. Junior Achievement is the largest organization in the United States dedicated to equipping young individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills for achieving economic success.

Through the Paychex Charitable Foundation, Paychex will be granting $1 million to Junior Achievement over a period of four years, with an annual allocation of $250,000. This generous contribution aims to foster the long-term financial well-being of young Americans, particularly in regions where Paychex has a significant employee presence.

This grant to Junior Achievement represents the third substantial donation made within the framework of the Paychex Charitable Foundation's strategic giving approach, which focuses on promoting overall well-being by addressing mental health, physical health, financial health, and professional skills development. In addition to the grant to Junior Achievement, Paychex has previously announced similar contributions to Mental Health America and Feeding America earlier in 2023, demonstrating their commitment to supporting emotional and physical well-being, respectively.

“As one of the country’s leading providers of HR, payroll, benefits, and insurance solutions, Paychex has a unique view of the financial challenges American workers face and the critical role that strong financial literacy plays as young Americans join the workforce,” said John Gibson, Paychex's president and CEO.

“This insight underlies our belief that successful local economies start with vibrant communities—and financial health is the foundation of that mission. Our ongoing support of Junior Achievement will help ensure that the next generation of workers has the knowledge and skills for economic success.”

Junior Achievement, with over 100 regional branches throughout the United States, has an extensive reach, impacting over three million students annually. Their programs are implemented in approximately 127,000 classrooms and after-school venues, delivering essential content centered around work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.

“We at Junior Achievement know that for many young people, financial literacy education in school is an essential part of experiencing financial health later in life,” said Jack E. Kosakowski, President & CEO of Junior Achievement USA.

“We greatly appreciate Paychex’s investment and partnership in ensuring more young people have access to the information they need to benefit themselves, their families, and ultimately their communities.”

Paychex, beyond its generous monetary contribution from the Paychex Charitable Foundation, intends to mobilize its extensive network of 16,000 employees as volunteers to actively contribute to the advancement of Junior Achievement's mission in promoting the enduring financial well-being of young Americans. The specific markets that will benefit from the funding associated with this grant are Albuquerque, N.M.; Allentown, Pa.; Baton Rouge, La.; Chicago, Ill.; Pasadena, Calif.; Phoenix, Ariz.; Rochester, N.Y.; San Diego, Calif.; St. Petersburg, Fla.; Tampa, Fla.; and West Palm Beach, Florida.
