Recycle your Christmas tree at Home Depot

01/09/2023

Recycle your Christmas tree at Home Depot
According to the National Christmas Tree Association, nearly 350 million Christmas trees are currently grown on farms in the United States. During its typical lifespan of eight to twelve years, the tree absorbs carbon dioxide, emits fresh oxygen, stabilizes soil, protects water supplies, and serves as a haven for wildlife.

Following the removal of a Christmas tree, one to three seedlings are planted in its place. People who buy them help to support local economies. When trees are recycled, the environmental stewardship continues.

There are numerous applications for recycled trees. Some are recycled into mulch, which is then used in community playgrounds, parks, and homes. Others are added to lakes to provide habitat for fish and other aquatic life. Furthermore, recycling eliminates the costly process of adding more debris to landfills.

The week of January 5 is the most popular time to recycle your Christmas tree. Check with your nearest Home Depot to see if they recycle Christmas trees. If not, go to Earth 911 to find a program near you.
