AEG, a global leader in sports and live entertainment, has teamed up with the Koreatown Youth and Community Center (KYCC) to support neighborhood improvement efforts in Los Angeles. More than 30 AEG employees took part in a volunteer initiative aimed at cleaning up public areas and removing graffiti throughout Koreatown.
The project, held on Aug. 26, concentrated on public spaces around Seoul International Park and nearby streets. Volunteers worked to eliminate graffiti and improve the appearance of areas used by residents, families and local businesses. Before beginning the cleanup, AEG employees received guidance and training from KYCC staff and then joined hands-on efforts supporting the nonprofit’s broader neighborhood revitalization work.
The initiative was organized with support from AEG Global Partnerships’ Inclusion Council (GPIC), an employee-driven group dedicated to promoting inclusion, connection and equity within the company. GPIC provides employees with opportunities to participate in community-focused projects, allowing them to support causes that have a direct impact on the neighborhoods in which they live and work.
Community organizations such as KYCC emphasize that addressing graffiti quickly can do more than improve the appearance of an area. Timely removal can discourage further vandalism and encourage residents and businesses to take greater ownership of their surroundings. Corporate volunteer programs can therefore become an important part of wider efforts to improve neighborhood quality of life.
“Strong communities are built through collaboration,” said Brynne Kuntz, Sr. Director of Creative Design, AEG Global Partnerships. “By partnering with organizations like KYCC, our employees have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in neighborhoods where we live and work while supporting efforts that promote civic pride and community well-being.”
The Koreatown project forms part of AEG’s wider corporate social responsibility efforts, which include employee volunteering, community engagement and support for initiatives designed to deliver long-term benefits at the local level. It also continues the company’s established relationship with KYCC, through which AEG employees and community members have participated in neighborhood improvement activities and initiatives aimed at expanding opportunities for Los Angeles residents.
As companies place greater emphasis on purpose-driven employee engagement, collaborations between businesses and community organizations are becoming an increasingly important way to tackle local issues. Projects such as the AEG-KYCC partnership demonstrate how coordinated volunteer efforts can improve public spaces while strengthening community connections and neighborhood pride.
