The Coach Foundation has announced a significant $20 million investment aimed at expanding opportunities for under-resourced youth who aspire to turn their dreams into reality. This move nearly doubles the Foundation’s existing commitment to its North American Dream It Real initiative by 2030, supporting its mission through multi-year grants to strategic partners and enhanced support mechanisms. The expansion marks a pivotal step forward for the Foundation’s premier scholarship program, now in its seventh year, and positions it to reach its ambitious target of 10,000 scholarships ahead of schedule.
The Dream It Real initiative remains central to the Foundation’s efforts, grounded in its mission to empower the next generation by removing barriers to education through college scholarships, mentorship, and vital resources. The increased investment reflects the Foundation's confidence in the program's outcomes: an impressive 97% of participating students are on track to graduate on time—far exceeding the national average of 21% for students from similar backgrounds. Moreover, 94% of these scholars are the first in their families to attend college, graduating with 88% less debt than the national norm.
In collaboration with top education-focused organizations like Bottom Line and The Opportunity Network, the Coach Foundation continues to foster equitable access to higher education and create lasting impact. To date, the Foundation has awarded over 7,000 scholarships globally.
“This funding underscores our deep commitment to the young individuals we serve,” said Todd Kahn, CEO and Brand President of Coach. “By amplifying our efforts across North America, we’re extending the reach and results of a proven model. These students are achieving extraordinary milestones, and we’re determined to help even more young people unlock their potential and shape a brighter future. Our new goals for 2030 will enable us to support even more deserving students.”
The $20 million announcement was made during the Foundation’s annual Dream Day event on June 12. This year’s gathering held special meaning, celebrating both the program’s first graduating class and welcoming its largest incoming cohort of students. Over 400 young attendees participated in the event, which included powerful discussions with WNBA athletes Kiki Iriafen (Washington Mystics) and Aneesah Morrow (Connecticut Sun). Centered on the theme Dream Horizons, the day marked a moment of transition, reflection, and renewed ambition—with engaging activities like speed mentoring, interactive workshops, and manifestation exercises.
With this enhanced commitment, the Coach Foundation continues to push forward its mission of helping young people realize their fullest potential—driven by the core belief that every young person deserves the chance to pursue their dreams.
