Leidos UK sustainability initiatives in 2025 focused on turning everyday workplace decisions into measurable environmental improvements. Through its Green Team, Leidos Innovations U.K. Limited engaged employees in awareness campaigns, volunteering activities, digital sustainability workshops and efforts to reduce waste.
Using the Giki sustainability engagement platform, employees collectively helped avoid more than 40,000 kilograms of carbon emissions, conserve over 2 million litres of water and prevent the use of more than 5,000 single-use plastic items.
The company’s Green Team also organised 19 sustainability activities during the year, encouraging colleagues to adopt more environmentally conscious habits at work and beyond.
Leidos Green Team delivered 19 sustainability activities
The 2025 programme combined environmental awareness with practical activities designed to encourage employee participation. Initiatives included involvement in Plastic Free July, local litter-picking events and a Digital Spring Clean campaign.
These activities gave employees opportunities to contribute directly to waste reduction and environmental awareness. The programme also sought to make sustainability a more visible part of everyday workplace culture.
Giki platform tracks employee sustainability actions
Leidos employees used the Giki sustainability engagement platform to participate in activities aimed at reducing their environmental impact.
According to the company, participation through the platform contributed to three key outcomes during 2025:
- More than 40,000 kg of carbon emissions avoided.
- More than 2 million litres of water conserved.
- More than 5,000 single-use plastic items prevented.
These figures represent the collective impact reported by Leidos through its employee engagement activities.
Collaboration with NATS focused on digital sustainability
Leidos also worked with its customer, NATS, on a Digital Spring Clean and Tech Bar initiative. The activities encouraged employees to examine their technology habits and consider how everyday digital practices could be made more sustainable.
Participants explored ways to reduce digital clutter, manage data storage more efficiently and minimise the environmental footprint associated with technology use.
The initiative extended the company’s sustainability programme beyond conventional waste reduction, highlighting the environmental considerations associated with digital activity.
Making sustainability part of workplace culture
Leidos’ 2025 programme brought together employee engagement, practical education, volunteering and collaboration. Its Green Team activities demonstrated how individual actions, when adopted collectively, can contribute to broader environmental objectives.
The company’s reported results also highlight the role of workplace engagement platforms and customer collaboration in encouraging employees to incorporate sustainability into their everyday decisions.
