AEG Fiestóncito Los Angeles Celebrates Local Businesses, Arts and Community

AEG Fiestóncito Los Angeles returned to L.A. LIVE on October 24, transforming Peacock Place into a gathering space for local entrepreneurs, artists, nonprofit organisations and families. The free, all-ages event celebrated the cultural diversity and community spirit of Los Angeles through marketplace stalls, arts activities, music, sports and access to community resources.

The celebration offered small businesses and independent creators an opportunity to introduce their products to new audiences. It also brought nonprofit organisations and local institutions into direct contact with residents, highlighting their programmes and services.

A marketplace showcasing Los Angeles entrepreneurs

A central feature of Fiestóncito was its mercadito, a community marketplace inspired by traditional Latin American markets. Ten small businesses and independent makers presented a range of products, including clothing, hand-painted crafts, jewellery, botanical and herbal products, and artisan goods from Oaxaca.

The marketplace provided participating entrepreneurs with an opportunity to showcase their work and connect with potential customers in downtown Los Angeles. It also highlighted the contribution of independent businesses and makers to the city’s cultural and economic life.

Nonprofits and community organisations connect with residents

Community organisations played an important role in the event, using the gathering to introduce attendees to their work and share information about available programmes and services.

Participating organisations included:

  • CARECEN, which supports Central American communities.
  • Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory, which works in the arts and creative fields.
  • Las Fotos Project, which empowers young women through photography.
  • Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan, which shared health and wellness resources with families.

Their participation gave residents an opportunity to learn about community programmes and resources in an accessible, family-friendly setting.

Art, music and sports activities encourage participation

Fiestóncito offered several interactive activities designed to bring attendees into the celebration. Visitors contributed to a community mural and participated in arts and crafts, adding a creative element to the programme.

Sports organisations also provided activities for families and young people. The LA Kings hosted a puck-shooting activity through its Hockey Development Program, which introduces young people to hockey. The LA Galaxy offered an interactive goal-shooting activity, allowing attendees to test their football skills.

Music throughout the event came from Los Angeles-based DJs CHABOI and Bianca Maieli of Suelta DJ Collective, alongside MIDI Riperton of Ladies of Sound. Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar provided food and beverages.

AEG and partners support an inclusive community celebration

Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan supported Fiestóncito, while AXS, AEG DEI, Mister Psychedelia and L.A. LIVE participated as event partners.

The collaboration brought together businesses, community organisations, artists and sports teams in a shared public space. By combining local commerce, cultural programming, recreation and access to community resources, the event created opportunities for participating organisations to reach residents and for neighbours to connect.

Fiestóncito’s programme placed local voices and independent businesses at the centre of the celebration. Its mix of marketplace activities, nonprofit outreach, arts and sports demonstrated how a community event can create connections across different parts of Los Angeles.
