Lenovo has partnered with Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools (NIS) to open a cutting-edge EdTech classroom at the NIS International Baccalaureate campus in Astana, Kazakhstan.
This project supports Kazakhstan’s broader strategy to accelerate the adoption of AI and digital tools in education, while showcasing Lenovo’s ongoing dedication to supporting local innovation and community development.
A space built for future innovators
The new learning environment is equipped with Lenovo’s latest technology, including ThinkVision P24 monitors, ThinkPad L14 laptops, and ThinkCentre M70t desktops—devices known for their strong performance and reliability. To encourage collaboration and interactive learning, the classroom also includes an advanced interactive panel powered by intelligent software that helps educators create engaging, tech-enhanced lessons.
But the space is designed to be more than just a classroom. It serves as a development hub for aspiring young technologists, giving students and teachers access to hands-on learning in areas like artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, mobile app creation, as well as virtual and augmented reality. The initiative aims to strengthen digital literacy and practical skills that students can apply both academically and professionally.
During the opening ceremony, Anuar Zhangozin, Chairman of the NIS Board, emphasized the significance of the project.
He noted that NIS students have already demonstrated exceptional results—earning two gold and one bronze medal at the International Olympiad in AI in Beijing, a silver medal at the Informatics Olympiad in Bolivia, and sixteen national awards in related disciplines.
Zhangozin also highlighted NIS’s own digital innovations, including an online platform for transparent exam grading, augmented-reality textbooks, and Beyim.ai, an AI-powered learning network. These technologies are transforming the way students and educators engage with digital tools every day.
Global expertise, local impact
Lenovo has long collaborated with educational institutions across Kazakhstan, bringing its technological know-how into classrooms nationwide. By equipping teachers and students with advanced digital tools, the company continues its mission to deliver “Smarter technology for all” and help build a more inclusive, trusted and sustainable digital future.
“Lenovo is honored to partner with Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools on their digital transformation journey,” said Gaziz Abdrassilov, Director of Corporate Sales for Lenovo in Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia and Moldova. “Integrating modern IT solutions into the learning process broadens access to high-quality education and opens new pathways for students to develop both academic knowledge and real-world skills. We value the confidence placed in us and remain committed to supporting innovation in education.”
