Enfinity Global Reaches 535 MW Solar Capacity in Italy
Enfinity Global has achieved a significant milestone in Italy's renewable energy sector by bringing 535 MW of solar power capacity into operation within just three years. The accomplishment highlights the company's capability to rapidly develop clean energy projects that help meet the country's increasing electricity needs.
The company's Italian portfolio currently comprises 18 operational photovoltaic (PV) plants located across the Lazio and Emilia-Romagna regions. Together, these facilities are projected to produce close to 1 terawatt-hour (TWh) of renewable electricity annually. This clean energy generation is expected to prevent approximately 290,904 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e) emissions each year, while supplying enough electricity to meet the annual needs of around 350,000 households.
Alessandro Ceschiat, Enfinity Global's General Manager for Italy, stated that reaching 535 MW of operational capacity demonstrates the company's ability to deliver essential energy infrastructure that supports national energy requirements, creates jobs, and contributes to local economic growth. He noted that every new megawatt commissioned enhances Italy's energy security, strengthens industrial competitiveness, and advances the country's decarbonization objectives.
Maria Diez, General Manager for Operations in Europe, credited the achievement to the dedication of Enfinity Global's teams across Italy and Europe, as well as the strong cooperation of the company's industrial, financial, and institutional partners. She emphasized that the milestone reflects a collective effort to transform ambitious renewable energy projects into fully operational assets that benefit Italy's power system.
Based on data from Elemens, Enfinity Global has become Italy's second-largest operator in terms of authorized solar capacity, surpassing the 1 GW mark. The company is also expanding its footprint in energy storage, with around 600 MW of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects already authorized. These projects form part of a broader development pipeline totaling 9.1 GW.
Supporting this rapid expansion is Enfinity Global's expertise in project financing and capital structuring, which has enabled the company to secure investments exceeding €1 billion for its Italian renewable energy portfolio.
