Jonathan Espinosa: Leading With Love and Inclusion at Henkel North America
Drawing on a wide range of voices, perspectives, and life experiences enables businesses to solve problems more effectively, uncover growth opportunities, and create solutions that benefit both people and communities. At Henkel North America, diversity is seen as a driver of progress, innovation, and meaningful impact. United by the purpose Pioneers at heart for the good of generations, employees and partners work together to overcome challenges, develop solutions, and bring forward new ideas—delivering products and innovations that make daily life better.

Our series, “Pioneers for Good,” highlights individuals who embody this spirit.

Meet Jonathan Espinosa
Jonathan Espinosa, Supply Chain Finance Controller at Henkel North America, demonstrates how love and courage can spark genuine change. His perspective has allowed him to turn challenges into opportunities for growth and has inspired others to live authentically.

Jonathan began his Henkel career in Mexico in 2016 as an operational controller. In 2023, he transitioned to the United States to join the supply chain organization. His career reflects a consistent willingness to face challenges with resilience and determination.

“Every position I’ve held has tested me personally or professionally, and each one has helped me grow,” Jonathan shared.

Building Community in the Workplace
Jonathan has always looked for ways to strengthen connection and belonging. In Mexico, he created spaces for employees to share ideas—such as open-mic events that encouraged storytelling in a safe, supportive environment.

After moving to the U.S., he carried this same spirit forward, joining Henkel’s PRIDE Employee Resource Group (ERG) to help foster inclusivity. Through PRIDE, Jonathan has been part of initiatives that range from small gatherings like “cupcakes and conversation” on Valentine’s Day to large-scale events such as Henkel’s participation in the NYC Pride Parade.

For Jonathan, ERGs are critical in cultivating communities where employees can show up as their true selves. His involvement has also strengthened his appreciation for Henkel’s wider ERG network. Although not a member of UNIDOS, Henkel’s Hispanic/Latinx ERG, Jonathan embraces his heritage and supports the group’s mission while continuing to spread his message of love and courage.

He believes: “Diversity is an asset, not a liability. When you show who you truly are, you unlock the power of diversity to build stronger relationships and communities at work. You should never feel afraid or ashamed of your identity.”

Leading With Love
Jonathan’s philosophy is simple but powerful: love brings people together. This aligns closely with Henkel’s message, Love Unites All. By leading with love, Jonathan advocates for inclusion, lives authentically, and encourages those around him to do the same.

His approach not only impacts colleagues today but also inspires future generations to feel confident in being themselves—at work and beyond. Jonathan’s journey demonstrates that authenticity paves the way for others to follow.

As he puts it: “When you are open and proud of your identity, you create space for others to feel safe doing the same.”

Jonathan and Henkel colleagues continue to celebrate Pride worldwide, carrying forward the message that Love Unites All.
