William C. Huff Companies, a leader in white-glove logistics for more than 100 years, has reached a major milestone in its ongoing effort to reduce the environmental impact of the moving and storage industry. As of February 20, 2026, the company has successfully eliminated 2 million pounds (1,000 tons) of carbon dioxide emissions since launching its solar energy initiative on October 15, 2015.
Home to the largest solar installation in Collier County, the company’s Naples warehouse now stands as a model for sustainable operations in the logistics sector. The 20,000-square-foot facility is powered by 535 solar panels, which have produced over 170,000 kilowatt-hours of renewable energy and offset more than 145,000 gallons of fuel consumption.
That level of fuel savings is comparable to driving a typical passenger car more than 3.4 million miles—roughly the distance needed to travel around the globe nearly 140 times.
Setting a New Standard for the Industry
This achievement underscores a broader opportunity for the moving and storage sector. While the company’s current system relies on 300-watt panels, today’s 400-watt technology delivers approximately 1.5 times greater efficiency. William C. Huff Companies estimates that if every 20,000-square-foot storage facility in the United States adopted a similar modern solar setup, each location could reduce carbon emissions by about 150 tons annually.
“We’re extremely proud of the progress we’ve made toward a more sustainable future,” said Jim Henderson, Owner and CEO of William C. Huff Companies. “Preventing two million pounds of CO2 from entering the atmosphere goes far beyond a number—it reflects our commitment to delivering ‘Elite Designer Services’ while being responsible stewards of the environment. We’re grateful to our clients for supporting this mission as we continue working to protect the planet for generations to come.”
A Decade of Environmental Leadership
The milestone builds on nearly ten years of environmental advocacy by the William C. Huff team, focused on embedding sustainability into high-end service offerings. By pairing exceptional care for valuable belongings with meaningful reductions in carbon emissions, the company continues to redefine excellence and leadership in the modern moving industry.
