‘Corporate Governance Award’ Of 2017 Goes To Voya Financial For The Second Time In A Row

11/30/2017

Voya Financial’s “governance, compliance and ethics” integration into its operation process makes them a proud recipient of 2017 “Corporate Governance Award”.

Dailycsr.com – 30 November 2017 – It is now the second year in a row that the Voya Financial, Inc. has proven itself in the field of “small to mid-cap category” for its “Best Compliance and Ethics program”, whereby it has bagged the “Corporate Secretary Magazine's 2017 Corporate Governance Award”.

Strong integrity and ethical culture was Voya’s identification, which was accompanied by leadership that drove “best practices in corporate governance, compliance and ethics”. As a result, the company always kept a “keen focus” on “new and innovative ways” that would help them to enhance “ethics and compliance awareness within Voya” and enable the company to integrate all “these topics” into daily employee activities and conversations.

According to the Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer at Voya Financial, William M. Welch II:
“It's an honor to be recognized by Corporate Secretary Magazine for the second year in-a-row. At Voya, we are proud of our values. Our commitment to doing the right thing is a business imperative that begins with our board of directors and extends to every Voya employee.”

The “Corporate Governance Awards” of “Corporate Secretary Magazine” honours the “best efforts” made by either companies, teams or individuals in the line of “governance, risk and compliance”. Moreover, the “Best Compliance and Ethics Program award” takes into consideration how the industry is coordinating “governance, compliance, ethics and risk management processes” throughout the corporation as well as the respective subsidiaries.

The companies are then judged on the basis of their understanding and integration level of “good governance principles across all disciplines and a truly non-silo approach to achieving an ethical governance environment”.

While, Ethical Performance also adds:
“The award was presented at Corporate Secretary Magazine's 10th Annual Corporate Governance Awards on November 9, 2017 at Cipriani in New York City before an audience of more than 400 governance, risk and compliance professionals”.
