Truist Foundation donates $1M towards Hurricane Ian

The funds will go towards supporting local non-profits which are working to meet medium to long-term community needs.


In a statement the Truist Foundation said, it would donate $1 million towards support relief and recovery efforts for communities impacted by Hurricane Ian in Florida.

The Truist Foundation will provide $200,000 to three regions in Florida to support a nonprofit focused on disaster relief efforts.

Additionally, the Truist Foundation will give $400,000 to the Center for Philanthropy's Atlantic Hurricane Season Recovery Fund (CDP) for Hurricane Ian.

CDP focuses on meeting medium- to long-term needs such as rebuilding homes and livelihoods, mental health services, and other community-identified challenges that arise as efforts progressive recovery.

"Our hearts go out to our teammates, customers, and communities impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Ian and the rest of its path," said Bill Rogers, Truist's president and chief executive officer, operation.

“The importance of purpose to inspire and build better lives and communities has never been clearer, and we are committed to helping those in need. We stand ready to help our community recover and rebuild."

Earlier this year, the Truist Foundation donated $1 million to the American Red Cross's annual Disaster Giving Program, which is designed to rapidly roll out assistance to communities impacted by natural disasters. events like Hurricane Ian.
