HanesBrands Bags The 11th United Way’s ‘Campaign Excellence Award’

Hanes encouraged its employees to volunteer and make a positive difference to the society.


Dailycsr.com – 30 March 2018 – In an announcement the HanesBrands revealed that the company together with “its employees” have taken a vow of “$1.97 million” for “United Way of Forsyth County and surrounding communities”. The said amount is for this year while it was also brought the company the “United Way’s 11th campaign excellence award”.
 
Moreover, Hanes was also awarded with the “Spirit of North Carolina Award” for “campaign excellence” by the “United Way of North Carolina”, whereby marking the “10th consecutive Spirit Award”, while the 11th was earned by the company and its employees’ efforts over the “past 12 years”. In the words of UWFC’s C.E.O as well as the President, Cindy Gordineer:
“HanesBrands demonstrated excellence in its United Way campaign, but also a strong philanthropic culture and community engagement. HanesBrands received high marks (in the Spirit Award selection process) for overall organizational volunteer culture, collaborative work with United Way, employee engagement, and participation.”
 
In fact, Hanes’ way of making “special events” a platform for engaging and educating the employees, besides its “leadership team” for “promoting a culture of philanthropy and community support” found a mention by the United Way. Hanes proves to be leader for long time which supported the United Way, while since the year of 2006, the family of Hanes made a contribution of over “$25.5 million to United Way agencies”. Hanes’ Vice-President, General Manager, Marketing, Classic Bras as well as the Chairperson for “United Way 2017 campaign”, Maria Teza added:
“The employees of HanesBrands continue to generously support the vibrancy and health of our community”.
 
Almost 400 employees at Hanes’ headquarter were given “paid time off” to encourage volunteerism in Hanes’ “Day of Caring” organised at “13 local community agencies”. Likewise, the employees volunteered for over “1,600” hours by performing “various tasks” like “landscaping, painting, administrative duties, and more”.
 
While, Maria Teza also said:
“This year’s campaign brought out the superhero in all of us and we had fun, while making a difference in our community”.
