New Holland, part of CNH, is pushing forward in sustainable agriculture with innovative alternative fuel technologies. Leading the charge is the T7 Methane Power tractor, a breakthrough designed for farmers looking to adopt cleaner energy solutions.
In CNH’s recent A Sustainable Year feature, French farmer and biomethane trailblazer Christophe Rousseau shared his experience after being invited by New Holland to test the T7 Methane Power. Following extensive use, Rousseau confirmed that the tractor delivers performance on par with its diesel counterpart. The machine is equipped with a specially engineered tank holding 657 liters (173 US gallons) of methane, providing enough energy for a demanding eight-hour silage shift.
Biogas continues to rise in importance within agriculture, and CNH has been a leader in this space for years. The company also strengthened its commitment by investing in Bennamann, a UK-based start-up that empowers farmers with on-site fueling infrastructure and micro-digesters capable of transforming cattle manure into renewable tractor fuel. On Rousseau’s farm in Domecy-sur-Cure, this vision is already a reality—showcasing how renewable energy can redefine the future of farming.
