Discover Georgia-Pacific's Paper Production Process and Sustainability Efforts

04/15/2024

Curious about the production process behind Georgia-Pacific LLC’s paper products? Look no further than our JumpStart Program, where interns and early-career employees gain hands-on experience within GP's Consumer Products division.

Recently, our "Jump Starters" had the opportunity to explore GP's Broadway mill in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Here, iconic brands like Angel Soft®, Quilted Northern Ultra Plush®, Dixie®, Vanity Fair®, and enMotion® are manufactured. During the visit, they also got an inside look at GP Ecosource, our paper recycling facility that repurposes nearly 60,000 tons of wastepaper annually, saving approximately 1 million trees in the process.

Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia-Pacific and its subsidiaries are global leaders in bath tissue, paper towels, napkins, tableware, paper-based packaging, cellulose, specialty fibers, nonwoven fabrics, building products, and related chemicals. Renowned consumer brands such as Quilted Northern®, Angel Soft®, Brawny®, Dixie®, enMotion®, Sparkle®, and Vanity Fair® are part of our portfolio.

With over 150 facilities and a workforce of more than 30,000 employees, Georgia-Pacific plays a pivotal role in supplying building products to lumber dealers, building materials retailers, and large DIY warehouses. Through our subsidiary, Georgia-Pacific Recycling, we're also one of the world's largest traders of paper, metal, and plastics, indirectly creating around 89,000 jobs.
