Every day, the PSEG Foundation works to uplift communities throughout New Jersey. Through its Neighborhood Partners Program, the Foundation supports initiatives that deliver vital resources such as infant supplies, workforce development opportunities and access to nutritious food for neighbors facing the greatest challenges.
Meet a few of the outstanding partner organizations helping families across the Garden State build security, resilience and opportunity.
Children’s Aid & Family Services
For more than two decades, Children’s Aid & Family Services in Paramus has supported families across Northern New Jersey as they care for their children. With funding from the PSEG Foundation, the organization’s Baby Basics Program supplies families with free diapers, baby formula and wipes—items that can make a critical difference for parents struggling to make ends meet.
Having reliable access to these essentials often relieves families from having to make impossible choices between basic household needs and their children’s well-being. Led by President and CEO Shavonda E. Sumter, the program distributed more than 450,000 diapers last year alone.
In addition to providing supplies, Baby Basics connects families to emotional support, referrals and community-based drives that offer further assistance. By ensuring infants have what they need to grow and stay healthy, Children’s Aid & Family Services is helping strengthen families and communities, one household at a time.
Bestwork Industries for the Blind
Established in Cherry Hill by a World War II veteran who lost his sight during service, Bestwork Industries for the Blind has been creating pathways to independence for individuals who are blind or visually impaired since 1981. Serving South Jersey, the organization delivers hands-on training and meaningful employment that builds confidence and long-term self-sufficiency.
Support from the PSEG Foundation helped Bestwork repair a vital 3D printer used to create adaptive workplace tools, allowing its Training and Employment Program to continue operating effectively. Participants gain practical experience in textile production, assembly and mobility skills, along with professional development that supports sustainable career growth.
Bestwork aims to grow from a small manufacturing organization into a comprehensive social enterprise. Together, we are helping turn that goal into reality by expanding access to tools, training and opportunity for every participant.
HOPES Community Action Partnership
Serving families across Hudson, Union and Somerset Counties, HOPES Community Action Partnership helps thousands of residents strengthen their financial footing, pursue education and improve their overall health.
HOPES offers a wide range of services, including early childhood education, tax preparation support, senior programming and financial literacy education—meeting families where they are at every stage of life.
With assistance from the PSEG Foundation, HOPES also addresses food insecurity through its Food Drive Program. This support allows the organization to provide whole, organic and nutrient-dense foods to households experiencing hunger, helping families access healthier, more balanced meals.
The program goes beyond filling pantries—it promotes long-term wellness by encouraging better nutrition and healthier habits, strengthening communities across the state.
The PSEG Foundation understands that affordability, stability and opportunity are deeply connected. By partnering with organizations dedicated to addressing real community needs, the Foundation is helping create a stronger, more resilient New Jersey—one family, one initiative and one success story at a time.
