VolunteerMatch awards recognition for innovative volunteering opportunities at VM Summit 16


Dailycsr.com – 17 November 2016 – VolunteerMatch is the largest network for “volunteer engagement” available on the web, whereby it gave a recognition to eight organisations and companies altogether, through an award ceremony, as an acknowledgement of their volunteering work as well as “cross-sector collaboration” which turned out to be “transformational” in nature.
 
The above mentioned event was held on the 25th of October 2016 in the “VM Summit 16”, an annual session on “corporate volunteerism” organised by VolunteerMatch. Moreover, the summit provides a platform for bringing together companies and non-profits which elevates the “conversation” held encouraging “cross-sector partnerships and volunteerism”. The Event Manager of “VM Summit 16” as well as the Marketing and Engagement Director of VolunteerMatch, Bree von Faith, said:
“The vision of VM Summit 16 is to encourage new connections, empower effective partnerships across sectors, and create inspiration. The award winners embody this vision in many ways, but particularly, by inspiring us all with their innovative and community-focused volunteer programs.”
 
VolunteerMatch provides a list of the eight recipient organisations and companies of the recognition awarded at the “VM Summit 16”, along with a summary of the each award category:
 
“Employee Volunteer Program of the Year”:
Two companies are chosen under this category for exceeding themselves in “encouraging employee volunteerism” which results in a high engagement rating on the company’s “employee volunteer management platform”. And the winners for the year of 2016 are:
  • Humana
  • Hagerty
 
“Nonprofit Volunteer Recruitment Program of the Year”:
This title is attributed to a non-profit for excelling in providing local support for “volunteer recruitment” through various opportunities like “hands-on and skills-based volunteering”, contributing in innovative manners to leverage the “VolunteerMatch network”. The winners of 2016 for this category is:
  • Girl Scouts
 
“Top Community-Connected Companies and Organizations”:
This third award distinguishes the organisations and companies that used the “VolunteerMatch Network” and “made the most connections to volunteer opportunities”. There are multiple winners for this wards in the year of 2016:
  • Delta
  • Humana
  • JetBlue
  • Raytheon
