07/17/2019

Nestlé introduces “sustainable water” in “sustainable bottle”.

Dailycsr.com – 17 July 2019 – Valvert is the Belgium based “natural mineral water” of Nestlé, while the brand marks its first along with Nestlé Water marking its “European first” venture together, whereby they launch “sustainable water” in a “more sustainable bottle”.

The company made an announcement for the bottle launch which has been hundred percent resourced from “recycled plastic”. Giving thus, a tangible innovative proof, Nestlé yet again highlights its “worldwide commitment” of making its “packaging 100% reusable or recyclable by 2025”.

This way Nestlé Waters takes “another important step” in dealing with “packaging waste” besides “protecting water resources”. Similarly, the launch for the sustainable water marks “another milestone” for Valvert on its path to sustainability. At present, Nestlé has already begun its collaboration with local communities and farmer for protecting the sources of “natural mineral water” located around the company’s “bottling facility in Etalle”.

In the words of the director of “Nestlé Waters Benelux”, Emmanuel Gruffat:
“We believe the new Valvert 100% rPET bottle is a gamechanger in the next generation of sustainable packaging, by limiting PET bottle production from virgin PET, and stimulating a bottle-to-bottle circular economy”. At the same time, we also continue to take our responsibility in further improving our collection and recycling rates in Belgium. That is why last year, Nestlé pledged with 8 members of Fevia (the Federation of the Belgian food industry), to collect and recycle 90% of all drink packaging in Belgium by 2022, including other measures”.

Nestlé’s one of the priority if to tackle the packaging waste which comes under its “global ambition” of making “100% of its packaging recyclable or reusable by 2025”. The company made the announcement in April 2018.
