Bottles made out of “entirely” recycled material adds on to Nestlé’s effort of promoting recycling habit among the customers.

Dailycsr.com – 25 February 2018 – On February 15, 2017, the “Nestlé® Pure Life® Purified Water”, which is a worldwide leading brand of “bottled water”, has made an announcement whereby revealing its “700-mL bottle”.

The newly introduced bottles of Nestlé come from 100% recycled “food grade” plastic, also called “rPET”. North American retail stores have begun to sell these packages from this month. While, Nestlé Waters North America’s executive vice-president as well as the chief marketing officer, Antonio Sciuto added:
“Nestlé Waters North America is the original bottled water company in the U.S., and environmental sustainability is an integral part of our company’s purpose and heritage. This new bottle made from 100 percent recycled plastic for our namesake brand is the latest way we’re satisfying consumer demand for healthy hydration on-the-go and inspiring consumers to recycle.”

Moreover, the new bottles of “Nestlé® Pure Life®” have been designed in a “premium” modern manner which received a “new branding” last year “under the banner of ‘Pure Life Begins Now™’”, whereby aiming to highlight the “importance quality water in people’s lives”. The purpose of the brand which features bottles “made entirely from recycled plastic” is to “inspire a healthier and brighter future that starts with water”.

A short video on “Nestlé® Pure Life® 700mL bottle” shows how the “recycled materials” are being used in this project and at the same time “encouraging consumers” for recycling the old bottles into new ones. All over the countries’ “grocery, mass, and convenience stores” sell the said product.

The usage of “PET plastic” material in the production of “Nestlé® Pure Life® half-liter bottles” has reduced by 40% since the year of 2005, while the introduction of the “rPET bottles” to the consumers all over the country only strengthens Nestlé’s efforts in inspiring customers to “recycle”, besides the company also adds on to its previous year’s move of providing “How2Recycle information” on its “major U.S. bottled water brands”.

Moreover, two initiatives taken up by Nestlé in reducing waste and reusing packaging materials across its beverage portfolio are given below, as mentioned in the Ethical Performance:
“Current use of recycled plastic: Today, one hundred percent of our single-serve bottles of Arrowhead® Brand Mountain Spring Water and Nestlé® Pure Life® Purified Water produced in California are made with 50 percent recycled plastic. To accomplish this, we work with a number of strategic suppliers including CarbonLITE, one of the largest producers of food-grade, post-consumer recycled PET. We are also expanding our roster of suppliers to purchase even more recycled plastic, which we plan to use in our other bottled water brands across the country.
“Investments and collaborations to promote environmental sustainability: Through global alliances such as the Trash Free Seas Alliance, founding of the bio-PET NaturALL Bottle Alliance, and investments in large-scale organizations like Closed Loop Fund, Keep America Beautiful and start-ups like RecycleUp, Nestlé Waters is collaborating with stakeholders across the PET value chain to create shared solutions to one of the world’s most pressing environmental issues”.
