Sappi North America Achieves ‘Zero Lost-Time Injuries’

Sappi employees’ achievement earned the company its “best-ever lost time injury frequency rate”.


Dailycsr.com – 21 February 2021 – The bygone year has proven to be special for Sappi North America for “safety” as its employees’ achievement earned the company its “best-ever lost time injury frequency rate”, in short LTIFR, “at 0.25”.
 
Everyone contributed to this achievement as over the 365 days’ time frame, the company only had “six lost-time injuries” that too in the second quarter, the company had “zero lost-time injuries” whereby marking the achievement of its “ultimate goal” for the first time ever. Furthermore, the company reported that on the 19th of May in 2019, the employees at Cloquet Mill of Sappi North America worked for “1.3 million hours without a single lost-time incident”.
 
With this, the Sappi’s employees of Allentown maintained their “record-breaking streak” whereby adding “another year of zero recordable lost-time incidents”. On the other hand, the employees at Somerset Mill of Sappi, recorded their “secondbest year”. Similarly, the employees of Westbrook made progress as over hundred and thirty employees joined its “new Fit Stop Wellness Centre”. While Sappi North America added:
“At Sappi, our common goal is to ensure safety—working hard every day to get each other home to our families, friends, and communities where we are needed most”.
