The same endeavour has been a part of a “volunteerism project” which is spearheaded by “Sears Holdings and Rebuilding Together”. The latter is a forty year old “national non-profit” which provides “safe and healthy housing”.

Employees from Sears and LG came together to perform “transformative home repairs”, gave updates on “energy efficiency” and “installed the much-needed new ENERGY STAR certified LG appliances in three homes” that are situated in the neighbourhood of “Hollygrove-Dixon”. Moreover, the project, named “Rebuilding Together”, coincided with the Energy Star Partner Meeting of the “Environmental Protection Agency” that took place in New Orleans.

LG got picked up for its “exclusive” laundry and kitchen appliances’ provider for homes that are yet to be renovated even after eleven years of Hurricane Katrina. LG Electronics Inc. U.S.A informed:
“The efficiency upgrades include LG front-load washers designated by the EPA as “ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2016” and companion ENERGY STAR certified LG dryers, as well as ENERGY STAR certified refrigerators and dishwashers”.

However, some of the homes also got “LG gas ranges and microwave ovens” as a part of their kitchen makeover. Rebuilding Together, in association with its partners such as LG and Sears, continue to transform “the lives of low-income homeowners” through the improvement of their homes’ health and safety, whereby “revitalizing” the communities in turn. John Taylor adds that:
“Rebuilding Together’s local affiliates and nearly 100,000 volunteers complete about 10,000 rebuild projects nationwide each year”.
