Lenovo Achieves AA+ Rating on 2025 Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index
Lenovo has announced that it received an AA+ rating on the 2025 Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index, marking the index’s second-highest distinction. Within its sector, Lenovo secured the top score in both environmental and social categories. The Hang Seng Index evaluation is based on a comprehensive process conducted by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA), an independent assessment body that applies its proprietary sustainability assessment and rating framework.

The evaluation covers seven key areas under the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) pillars: Corporate Governance, Human Rights, Labor Practices, Environment, Fair Operating Practices, Consumer Issues, and Community Involvement & Development. The methodology is reviewed annually to reflect global and local ESG developments, ensuring it remains aligned with evolving standards. The framework balances general and industry-specific indicators across ESG dimensions, applying additional weighting for sector-relevant materiality factors.

Lenovo’s continued inclusion in the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index highlights its dedication to building a smarter and more sustainable future. The company has set a goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, with targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). It continues to develop energy-efficient technologies and advance the circular economy through the use of recycled materials and enhanced product repairability.

On the social front, Lenovo promotes a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture across its global teams, extending these principles to the communities it serves. The company has earned recognition from organizations such as the Human Rights Campaign, Workplace Pride, and Disability:IN for its inclusive practices. Since 2020, Lenovo has invested nearly US $100 million to expand access to technology and STEM education for underserved populations.

Beyond the Hang Seng recognition, Lenovo has also achieved several other sustainability and governance accolades — including Platinum Recognition from EcoVadis, an AAA rating from MSCI ESG Ratings, and the Gold Award from the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) for excellence in Corporate Governance and ESG. Furthermore, Lenovo was ranked #8 in Gartner’s Top 25 Global Supply Chains, earning an ESG Score of 9/10, and maintained its #1 position in Gartner’s Asia/Pacific Supply Chain Top 10 for the fourth consecutive year. These accomplishments reaffirm Lenovo’s commitment to transparency, credibility, and measurable progress across all ESG dimensions.
