Schneider Electric’s SF6-free SM AirSet high-voltage switchgear can potentially bring about an overhaul of current EU F-gas policies and make them realistic.

Schneider Electric named Energy Efficiency Solution for 2022
A leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation space, Schneider Electric has once again struck gold at Greek Energy Mastering 2022 awards, wherein it has been named as the most "Energy Efficiency Solution of the Year" for 2022.

The Greek Energy Mastering Awards 2022 recognizes the best practices in the responsible use of energy in order to bring about a more sustainable future in the energy industry. The winners are selected based on their ability to drive customers to continually improve their energy and environmental performance, while improving their energy efficiency quotients and reducing their operating costs.

The award was given to the company in recognition of successful solutions and partnerships it developed to achieve increased efficiency in energy management while improving energy efficiency in smart cities.

Schneider Electric bagged the top slot in the category "Energy-saving and energy-saving products, technologies and services" for the SF6-free SM AirSet high-voltage switchgear. The award is based on a customer's contribution to reducing operating costs and their ability to support a more sustainable environment.

Schneider Electric’s digital MV switchgear is powered by new SF6-free MV technology, which uses clean air and vacuum innovations to eliminate the need for some of the most powerful greenhouse gases in the power grid and buildings.

Schneider Electric continues its mission to help organizations achieve net zero emissions through green products and innovations.

SM AirSet is an add-on, eco-friendly digital AIS MV device designed specifically for commercial and industrial buildings and critical infrastructure. The technology has been successfully tested in many energy companies, infrastructures and buildings by customers such as E.ON in Sweden, GreenAlp in France, EEC Engie in New Caledonia and Azienda Trasporti Milanesi in Italy.

Promising a complete SF6-free product portfolio, the SM AirSeT belongs to the Schneider family of SF6-free MV switchgear, which also includes the RM AirSeT. GM AirSet is the basic GIS for demanding applications.

Receiving the award demonstrates Schneider's success of its much-awaited clean technology, with high performance parameters.

As a result, the feasibility of overhauling of the current EU F-gas policies become realistic. In the event Schneider Electric’s SM AirSet is adopted in the future, it could result in a revision of European policy for limiting the use of SF6, which in turn could result in achieving an important milestone, even as the world sprints to successfully address European climate targets.
