Tata Power Promotes ‘Gender Equity’ In Education

Tata Power employees contributed for girls students.


Dailycsr.com – 29 April 2016 – Celebrating the “125th birth anniversary of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar”, the “largest integrated power company” of India, Tata Power honours the “World Knowledge Day”, by holding “an education kit distribution programme” for girl students of “Adarsh Vidyamandir High School”.
 
As many as two hundred fifty three girls were the recipients, while the fund was raised by the employees of Tata Power who contributed “a sum of Rs31,625”. In fact, the said initiative also fell in line with the “sponsorship scheme” under taken by the government of Maharashtra, India.
 
The list of participants include:
“Sudheer Thale, sarpanch of the group gram panchayat, Shahapur; Madhuri Bhoir, gramsevika of the group gram panchayat, Shahapur; Shivdas Patil, police patil, Shahapur; Nandkumar Patil, president, Tanta Mukti committee, other members of the group gram panchayat – Shahapur, and the principals and teachers of four schools”.
 
The C.O.O and the E.D of Tata Power, Ashok Sethi, stated, while speaking about the initiative:
“A successful society is the one that provides the best education to its girl children. We are proud of the Dherand CSR team that they took such a wonderful initiative on a great occasion. I encourage everyone to ensure that they do their bit in making a difference to the society.”
 
In a thanking note, Mr. Thale mentioned the CSR team of Tata Power, who sees the initiative as an attempt to “promote gender equity in the field of education”.
