Lenovo has been recognized for its environmental leadership, earning top marks for climate change (A) and water security (A-) from the global environmental non-profit CDP (formerly known as the Carbon Disclosure Project). Being featured on CDP’s prestigious Corporate A List underscores Lenovo’s strong commitment to environmental transparency and detailed reporting.
CDP is an independent, non-profit organization that enables companies and institutions to publicly disclose their environmental impacts. In 2024, more than 22,700 companies participated in CDP's assessment of climate and water-related practices.
The scoring process in 2024 became notably stricter, aligning more closely with evolving ESG standards and raising expectations for environmental performance. Lenovo’s A List designation reflects the robustness of its sustainability initiatives, including transparent carbon emissions reporting and effective water resource management.
Beyond this achievement, Lenovo also earned a Platinum Medal from EcoVadis and was awarded AAA status by MSCI ESG Ratings, further validating its sustainability performance.
The company is on course to meet its short-term emissions reduction goals, which are aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative, as part of its broader ambition to reach net-zero emissions by 2050. Collaboration is central to Lenovo’s strategy—particularly through engaging its global supply chain and assisting suppliers in meeting their own environmental targets.
In September 2023, Lenovo reinforced its commitment to sustainability by joining the UN Global Compact Forward Faster initiative, pledging to speed up private sector contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals, with a strong emphasis on climate action and water sustainability.
