05/02/2023

Discover why Hormel Foods Corporation is a trailblazer in corporate citizenship! We're thrilled to announce that we've been included on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's coveted list of the top 100 largest green power users from the Green Power Partnership (GPP). But that's not all - we're also proud to have clinched the 20th spot on the EPA's list of Green Power Partners within the Fortune 500®.

As part of our unwavering commitment to sustainability, we've joined forces with the EPA's Green Power Partnership in 2022. We're using a whopping 938 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green power annually, which accounts for 100% of our overall operation's total power needs. By using green power, we're driving the voluntary market for sustainable energy and championing the development of renewable energy sources. Join us as we pave the way towards a greener future!

"We're honored to be recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency for our company's continued commitment to green power implementation," said Mark Coffey, group vice president of supply chain at Hormel Foods.

"This recognition is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our inspired team members who are the foundation of our success."

Experience the power of corporate responsibility with our game-changing 20 By 30 Challenge! At our company, we're dedicated to inspiring significant reductions in nonrenewable energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption, and solid waste sent to landfills. Our ambitious goals are the driving force behind our unwavering commitment to sustainability.

We've teamed up with experts in the renewable energy field to identify and execute off-site wind and solar projects. Not only that, but we've also invested in on-site solar power and energy reduction projects. By doing so, we're creating a greener future for all. Join us as we lead the charge towards a more sustainable tomorrow!

"We know that as a good corporate citizen in our communities in the United States and all over the world, it is important to work toward implementing green power solutions," said Tom Raymond, director of environmental sustainability at Hormel Foods.

At Hormel Foods, we're honored to be recognized as a trailblazer in corporate responsibility and sustainability. Not only have we been included on the EPA's prestigious list of the largest users of green power, but we've also been named by Newsweek as one of America's Most Trustworthy Companies for the second consecutive year and one of America's Most Responsible Companies for four years running. Plus, we've earned a coveted spot on 3BL's 100 Best Corporate Citizens list an impressive 13 times.

Forbes has also recognized our commitment to creating a better world by naming us one of the World's Top Female-Friendly Companies. Recently, we were honored to be included on Barron's list of the 100 Most Sustainable Companies. These accolades serve as a testament to our unwavering dedication to corporate responsibility and sustainability.

According to the EPA, our use of nearly 938 million kWh of green power is equivalent to the annual electricity use of more than 88,000 average American homes. We're proud to show that it's possible to do well by doing good. As James Critchfield, program manager of EPA's Green Power Partnership, stated: "This list of the largest users of green power across the nation is proof that good business practices can also benefit the environment." Join us as we lead the way towards a brighter and greener future!
