Biogen launches unique Climate Resilient Health Clinics Toolkit
Thousands of community health centers in the United States that serve uninsured or underinsured patients face an increasing number of systemic challenges as a result of extreme weather caused by climate change. Biogen is collaborating with Americares and the Center for Climate, Health, and the Global Environment at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health to assist these clinics in addressing climate-related risks to operations and patient health.

The organizations formally launched a first-of-its-kind Climate Resilient Health Clinics Toolkit on December 6, which will assist clinics in better managing patient care when confronted with common climate health effects. The toolkit includes resources on extreme heat, wildfires, hurricanes, and floods for clinic patients, providers, and staff.

Biogen's support for climate resilience for frontline clinics is part of the company's bold initiative to address the deeply interconnected issues of climate, health, and equity, Healthy Climate, Healthy LivesTM. Healthy Climate, Healthy LivesTM aims to eliminate the use of fossil fuels throughout the company's operations, establish collaborations with renowned institutions to advance science to improve human health outcomes, and assist underserved communities.
