Bringing about sustainability and performance in Water stewardship

09/20/2017

If you have ever wandered why performance in water stewardship is important, and how to practically achieve and benchmark it, this read is worth your time.

Dailycsr.com – 20 September 2017 – Since our very inception, Beverage Industry Environmental Roundtable (BIER) has focussed on ways to enhace water management inside and outside of the beverage sector.
With 19 companies under its umbrella and thanks to the collaboration of dozens of leaders in sustainability, within just a short span of 10 years, BIER has been able to produce innovative water benchmarking research, as well as develop practical tools to help beverage companies bring about a real change in their water management practices.
Despite these giant strides, our work is far from complete.
Inspired by the celebratory spirit of last month’s World Water Week, we would like to set apart some time to to focus on one important topic - Performance in Watershed Context.
Although the beverage industry has made some notable strides in water stewardship, it is important to note that managing water performance in the context of local watershed conditions is critical to advancing our mission as well as to other industries.
Take a look at the Beverage Industry Environmental Roundtable's (BIER) Watershed Context blog post, which highlights the significance of performance in the watershed context and discusses a framework for evaluating your own facilities which you can use to set your next target.
