Emerson and Saudi Aramco Partner on Advanced Corrosion Monitoring Solutions

Global automation company Emerson has announced a partnership with Saudi Aramco to jointly develop advanced corrosion management technologies for the energy sector.

For Aramco, effective corrosion management plays a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency, ensuring workplace safety, and supporting environmental sustainability. By adopting continuous corrosion monitoring systems, the company aims to replace complex and potentially hazardous manual inspection methods with dependable digital monitoring that enables faster and more informed decisions.

Under the collaboration, Aramco will contribute its technical expertise and proprietary knowledge, while Emerson will provide its cutting-edge corrosion monitoring technologies. These include ultrasonic online corrosion monitoring systems, wireless connectivity for wall thickness monitoring devices, and continuous real-time data collection capabilities. Together, the companies plan to create a customized digital corrosion management solution tailored to Aramco’s operational requirements.

Ram Krishnan, Chief Operating Officer at Emerson, stated that the company’s broad technology portfolio places it in a strong position to help design scalable, cost-efficient, and specialized corrosion monitoring solutions for Aramco. He added that the jointly developed technology could eventually benefit a wide range of industries beyond the energy sector.
