Highlighted Initiatives
- Truist Tuesday:
Launching as a recurring monthly spotlight event, Truist Tuesday will shine a light on local organizations dedicated to improving the community. The first Truist Tuesday, held during tournament week on May 5, 2026, will pay tribute to Charlotte native and golf trailblazer Charles Sifford. In partnership with the Trail of History, the celebration will include a matching grant and the unveiling of a statue in Sifford’s honor. - Birdies for Better:
Beginning November 12, 2025, this charitable campaign will encourage fans and donors to contribute to their favorite local nonprofits while predicting the total number of birdies made during the tournament for a chance to win exclusive prizes. Participating nonprofits will receive 100% of the proceeds from donations and may qualify for a share of the tournament’s $100,000 bonus pool.
(Nonprofits can register at Birdies for Better Registration). - Access, Opportunity, and Development Summit:
Debuting in fall 2026, this three-day summit will bring together community leaders, amateur golf programs, and local institutions for mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities aimed at expanding diversity and inclusion in the sport. - Small Business Partnership Program:
To further uplift the local economy, the Truist Championship will create opportunities for small businesses to showcase their products and services on-site during tournament week, promoting entrepreneurship within the Charlotte community.
“The Truist Championship is much more than a premier golf tournament — it’s a vehicle for lasting community impact,” said Adam Sperling, Executive Director of the Truist Championship. “Through initiatives like Birdies for Better and our tribute to pioneers such as Charles Sifford, we aim to ensure this event leaves a legacy that extends far beyond the fairways.”
“At Truist, our purpose is to inspire and build better lives and communities,” added Bill Rogers, Chairman and CEO of Truist. “Bringing the Truist Championship home to Charlotte gives us the opportunity to celebrate our city’s history, empower youth, strengthen local connections, and support small businesses — all while delivering an unforgettable tournament experience.”
“We commend Truist and the Truist Championship for their commitment to community enrichment,” said Johnny Harris, President of Quail Hollow Club. “Professional golf has long been a catalyst for positive change, and these programs exemplify that spirit.”
Since joining the PGA TOUR in 2003, the Truist Championship has generated over $32.5 million in charitable contributions, supporting numerous local and regional nonprofits throughout its history.
