07/08/2015

Adobe Youth Voice Competition has announced its winners who have worked on various digital media that address social issues.

Dailycsr.com – 08 July 2015 – The winners of the “Adobe Youth Voices Awards” are already out! The Business Wire, reporting from San Jose, California, writes about it. The announcements were made on the 25th June 2015.

As per Business Wire, this was the fourth time since the Adobe Foundation held such competitions. Therefore the winners emerged as the fourth annual AYV, or Adobe Youth Voices’ champions. AYV is an “online competition” wherein students belonging to the age group of thirteen to nineteen can take part on a global basis. These candidates were tasked to develop designs of digital media which would play an instrumental role in driving a “positive change” in the communities they live in.

This time “2,700 students” made a record by submitting various projects, which totaled to “1,575”. They all were subject to multiple social issues; for example climate change, human equality, body image and bullying.

There fifteen projects that were chosen as winners. These came from “a pool” of fifty three finalists who were judges by “318,738 individual votes”. The winners were put in five different categories, namely:
“…animation, documentary, narrative, visual composition and social venture.”

All the fifteen winners were awarded with “Adobe Creative Cloud” which were complimented with:
“…cash grants, hardware and Creative Cloud for the nonprofits that support their vision for change”.

There is also a good news for the finalists that all of them are now “eligible to apply for an Adobe Creativity Scholarship”. Moreover, the ones who have won the “social venture prize” will be given a mentorship from the “Ashoka Youth Ventures” as a helping step, in order to enable them to resolve the respective social issues they opt for. There is a blog post which contains further details as well as “a full list of this year’s winners” which can be viewed for surplus information.

Furthermore, Business Wires writes about Adobe saying:
