Trimble Powers Centimeter-Level Navigation in Lucid Gravity EV
Trimble has revealed that its advanced positioning solutions will play a key role in powering the navigation and driver-assistance features of the upcoming Lucid Gravity. With the integration of Trimble RTX and ProPoint Go technologies, Lucid Gravity becomes the first electric vehicle equipped with a robust positioning system capable of delivering centimeter-level precision—even in locations such as tunnels, parking structures, and crowded urban areas where conventional GPS signals struggle.

The partnership introduces a higher standard of driving assurance by combining satellite-based data with six-axis inertial sensors to achieve exceptional accuracy. While traditional automotive navigation systems often allow for positioning errors measured in meters, Trimble’s solution refines that margin to just a few centimeters, enabling precise lane identification and vehicle positioning.

“This partnership represents a fundamental evolution in how vehicles interpret their surroundings,” said Olivier Casabianca, Vice President of Advanced Positioning at Trimble. “Lucid Gravity is the first electric vehicle to fully adopt Trimble’s sensor-fusion technology. Our goal goes beyond basic navigation—we’re enabling consistent, dependable driving performance in some of the world’s most demanding conditions.”

Working seamlessly in the background, Trimble’s technology enhances five critical elements of the Lucid Gravity driving experience:
  • Continuous navigation: Acting as the primary source for position, speed, and direction, the system eliminates signal dropouts commonly encountered in dense city environments.
  • Hands-free driving confidence: Ultra-precise location data feeds directly into the Hands-Free Driving Assist (HFDA) system, ensuring accurate highway positioning.
  • Reliable range estimates: Detailed elevation data supports more accurate battery-range calculations by accounting for real-world terrain.
  • Advanced infotainment: Lane-level positioning enables next-generation features across mobile applications and in-vehicle displays.
  • Enhanced fleet insights: High-resolution tracking improves visibility and management of fleet vehicles.
Availability
Trimble’s positioning technology will be included as standard equipment on all new Lucid Gravity models starting in late January 2026. Vehicles already in circulation will gain access to these features through an over-the-air software update, instantly enhancing their navigation and positioning capabilities.
