Quest Diagnostics has unveiled its 2022 Corporate Responsibility Report, underscoring its commitment to addressing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) concerns in alignment with The Quest Way, the company's guiding purpose, strategy, and culture. Jim Davis, Chairman, CEO, and President, emphasized how their ESG approach reinforces their mission of collaboratively working towards a healthier world, one life at a time.

The report offers insights into Quest's initiatives across equity and health access, employee and community engagement, governance, and environmental stewardship, positioning the company to play a more substantial role in the evolving healthcare landscape.

In 2022, Quest marked a significant milestone in its ESG journey by establishing goals based on a materiality assessment. The company's ESG strategy rests on four pillars: Governance and ethics, Equity and health access, Employee and community engagement, and Environmental sustainability. Sam Samad, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, who leads the ESG Leadership Council, highlighted their progress in integrating ESG into their operations to create enduring value for all stakeholders. Achieving their purpose of fostering a healthier world requires collective efforts from employees, partners, and the communities they serve.

The report showcases key achievements from 2022, including:

  • Employees dedicating over 20,000 hours to volunteer work.
  • Discounted test requisitions and donations through Quest for Health Equity, an initiative with the Quest Diagnostics Foundation, reducing health disparities in underserved communities.
  • Corporate giving and Quest for Health Equity grants totaling approximately $15 million to communities nationwide.
  • A diverse workforce with more than 50% of U.S.-based employees identifying as people of color and 72% of the workforce being female.

Over 6,000 Quest colleagues advancing in their careers within the company.

Enhanced board diversity with 30% of the company's Board of Directors representing diverse racial or ethnic backgrounds, including the recent addition of Dr. Luis Diaz.

ISO14001 environmental management certification awarded to the San Juan Capistrano laboratory.
