PBF Energy Reports 2025 Sustainability Progress

09/02/2026

PBF Energy Inc. has released its 2025 Sustainability Data Supplement, providing three years of environmental, workplace safety, employee, and corporate governance data covering 2023 through 2025. The report covers the company’s refining activities and follows the SASB Oil & Gas – Refining & Marketing reporting framework.

The latest figures show several notable improvements over the previous year. Gross Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions fell for the third consecutive year, while hazardous waste generation decreased in 2025. At the same time, the proportion of hazardous waste sent for recycling increased. Water-related regulatory non-compliance incidents also continued to decline. PBF Energy further increased the percentage of its Renewable Volume Obligation fulfilled through its own production during 2025. For the third year in a row, the company recorded no fatalities among employees or contractors.

In addition to these indicators, the supplement provides detailed information on air emissions and quality, water stewardship, employee health and safety, board composition, workforce demographics, and refinery operations. The data is compiled using PBF Energy’s operational control boundary, allowing stakeholders to assess performance across its refining portfolio and identify both areas of progress and metrics that changed less favorably compared with the previous year.
