LA Galaxy Leads Venice Beach Cleanup for Plastic Free July

07/10/2025

Demonstrating its ongoing dedication to environmental responsibility, AEG’s LA Galaxy joined forces with Heal the Bay, Goodr, and Freeway Insurance to organize a major beach cleanup at Venice Beach in honor of Plastic Free July. The event united more than 100 volunteers who removed over 40 pounds of trash—including plastic bottles, food wrappers, and other litter—from the shoreline.

This initiative highlights the LA Galaxy’s broader commitment to sustainability and community involvement that extends beyond soccer. Volunteers from all four organizations collaborated to safeguard the Southern California coast and bring attention to the growing issue of plastic pollution worldwide.

“Plastic Free July offers an important chance to reevaluate our everyday behaviors and make more sustainable choices,” said Gabriel Osollo, LA Galaxy’s Director of Community Relations. “We’re honored to work alongside like-minded partners such as Heal the Bay, Goodr, and Freeway Insurance to foster a greener future and encourage community action.”

Plastic Free July is a global campaign encouraging people and organizations to cut down on single-use plastics throughout the month and beyond. The LA Galaxy’s involvement in this year’s event reinforces the club’s strong environmental values and its leadership in sustainability within the community.

Through efforts like this, the club and its partners hope to motivate fans and local residents to adopt simple but impactful habits—like reducing single-use plastic consumption—that collectively support a healthier environment.
