In Georgia, locally grown food serves not only as nourishment but also as a vehicle for enhancing climate initiatives and promoting equity. Consider Community Farmers Markets, an Atlanta nonprofit that is implementing several of Drawdown Georgia’s 20 climate solutions in the communities most in need. In a recent discussion with Eriqah Vincent—veteran climate justice advocate and host of the Georgia Climate Digest video series—Casey Hood, Director of Operations & Vendor Support, along with Raevin Hawkins, Food Systems Innovation Manager, explained how the organization is cutting emissions, addressing food insecurity, and strengthening community bonds.
