Coca-Cola Recycle & Win Encourages Sustainable Habits

Making recycling habits fun and attractive, the Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated along with other partners creates Coca-Cola Recycle & Win.

Dailycsr.com – 19 February 2016 – The customers of the “City of Wilmington solid waste” take part in Coca-Cola Recycle & Win to make a difference in the environment in a fun manner. The Coca-Cola Recycle & Win is a private or public “partnership” that has been uniquely designed to encourage “local recycling participation” while bringing down the level of contamination.
It helps the City of Wilmington solid waste’s office in maintaining “low trash rates” besides protecting the environment. Moreover, if a customer is seen following a proper recycling method, the respective customer gets rewarded with “a $50 Harris Teeter gift card”.
The Mayor of Wilmington, Bill Saffo says:
"Recycling is an important part of our goal to encourage and support environmental responsibility in Wilmington. Increasing the recycling participation rate is one way we intend to build a sustainable community. This effort reinforces the City’s support for the County’s public/private partnership bringing a recycling sorting facility to our local area this spring. The City wants to ensure customers are not only recycling, but recycling the proper materials and supporting the local materials recovery facility.”
While, the United States’ Congressman, David Rouzer added:
“Initiatives like the Coca-Cola Recycle & Win program are very important to growing North Carolina’s recycling economy and creating jobs based on the recovery of materials. I’m excited to see this program develop and am grateful for the leadership of Coca-Cola, Harris Teeter, and the City of Wilmington.”
The Coca-Cola Recycle & Win program is a result of a joint investment of “over $150,000” made by the “Coca-Cola Company and Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated”. The same initiative also offers a direct mail educational packet” which sent all the single families present in the list of “City of Wilmington solid waste customers” and are from Wilmington.
Furthermore, the Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs in Coca-Cola Bottling Company Consolidated, Lauren Steele proudly comments”
“Coca-Cola is proud to bring the Coca-Cola Recycle & Win program to Wilmington. The Coca-Cola Company believes it is essential to educate everyone on the importance of recycling and recycling properly. We also believe that recycling should be a rewarding experience, and what better way to encourage people to recycle than by giving them an opportunity to be a winner!”
The winners have a chance to win the Harris Teeter gift card, whereby the Communication Manager at Harris Teeter, Danna Robinson announces:
“Harris Teeter is proud to support the Coca-Cola Recycle & Win program. This program allows us to strengthen our commitment to sustainability in Wilmington and in all of the communities we serve.”
