#BellLetsTalk – A Share Triggers A Cause To Donate

Bell Media leads the way in raising fund for mental illness through the social media platform.


Dailycsr.com – 17 March 2017 – Bell Media sponsored for “Bell Let’s Talk”, whereby the hashtag #BellLetsTalk made its entry in the world of social media, especially in Instagram and Twitter, on the 25th of January 2017.
 
The said campaign focuses mainly on “sharing stories of mental illness”, through this endeavour it is attempted to ease the struggle of people who go through the torment. Every share with a hashtag of #BellLetsTalk has drawn a donation of five cents to “various mental health causes” throughout Canada, whereby raising the donation bar to “$6,585,250” coming of around “131,705,010 interactions”.
 
This annual initiative started from the year of 2010 and has continued ever since, while the website reports that:
“Millions of Canadians, including leading personalities engaged in an open discussion about mental illness, offering new ideas and hope for those who struggle, with numbers growing every year. As a result, institutions and organizations large and small in every region received new funding for access, care and research, from Bell Let’s Talk and from governments and corporations that have joined the cause.”
 
In fact, an extrapolation shows that the Bell Let’s Talk’s donation is expected to reach “$100 million” by the year of 2020. Bell Media is one of the huge Canadian corporation, which has set a “great example” by adopting the said initiative in the field of CSR that can show other companies the way to raise awareness as well as financial support for a cause.

“For every retweet of this, Bell will donate 5 cents to Canadian Mental Health Programs, and I think that’s amazing. #BellLetsTalk”
