Entergy New Orleans Brings Holiday Relief Through Operation Secret Santa
For more than 10 years, Entergy New Orleans has brought holiday cheer to customers visiting the Canal Street Customer Care Center through its annual Operation Secret Santa initiative. What begins as a routine visit for billing assistance quickly turns into an unexpected and joyful moment.

During the event, customers are greeted by Santa Claus alongside Entergy New Orleans President and CEO Deanna Rodriguez and Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility Patty Riddlebarger, who share the good news that their electric bills have been fully covered. This holiday surprise is made possible through Entergy’s The Power to Care program, which provides emergency utility bill assistance to seniors and customers with disabilities during times of financial hardship.

“Operation Secret Santa is about connecting with our customers and offering added support when it matters most,” said Rodriguez. “The Power to Care program allows us to deliver real help and meaningful relief, especially during the holiday season.”

Customers’ reactions to the surprise have been deeply moving, with many expressing relief and heartfelt appreciation during a season that can be financially stressful. Now a cherished yearly tradition, the event stands out as one of Entergy’s most meaningful moments and highlights the company’s ongoing dedication to its customers and the communities it serves.

Beyond the holidays, The Power to Care program works year-round in partnership with local nonprofit organizations, Entergy employees, and customer donors to provide emergency assistance. Since launching in 2008, the program has generated more than $50 million, helping over 250,000 customers manage their energy costs during difficult times.

As the holidays draw near, Entergy encourages everyone to support neighbors in need. Contributions to The Power to Care program help ensure families and individuals can stay warm and keep their lights on throughout the winter months.
