Paramount Hosts NYC Students for Career Discovery Week 2025

05/06/2025

Last month, Paramount Global once again teamed up with the Partnership for New York City to take part in Career Discovery Week. This initiative is part of NYC Public Schools’ Student Pathways program, which aims to connect students with real-world career experiences and job exploration opportunities. More than 85 top employers across New York City participated this year, working together to help students transition from the classroom into the professional world. Paramount welcomed students from Robert Goddard High School and Information Technology High School in Queens for a full day of career-oriented activities and sessions led by employees.

The day began at Paramount’s Times Square headquarters with an introductory presentation that gave students an inside look at the company’s extensive lineup of brands and media platforms. Following the overview, Harold Anderson from Paramount’s Social Responsibility team led a dynamic Career Path Panel and Q&A. Featured speakers included:
  • Ashley Priest – VP of Corporate Communications, CBS & Paramount International Markets
  • Regan Forman – VP of Global Franchise Strategy, Paramount Consumer Products and Experiences
  • Colleen Reilly – Director Line Producer, Paramount Creative & Strategy
  • Luke Kwon – Senior Financial Analyst, Paramount Tech Finance
Each panelist shared meaningful advice and personal career stories that resonated deeply with the students.

Later, the students took part in two interactive creative workshops designed to highlight different stages of content development. The first, a mobile content creation session, challenged students to produce short-form videos using their smartphones.

This session was led by Reel Works, a nonprofit that supports underrepresented youth in NYC by teaching them storytelling through film and media. The second workshop focused on storytelling, where students used oversized storyboard templates to develop a 30-second commercial concept for Paramount. The students then pitched their ideas, many of which featured imaginative collaborations using beloved characters from shows like SpongeBob SquarePants and South Park.

Educators from both schools praised the event. They noted how confidently the students presented their ideas and how enthusiastically they interacted with various Paramount teams. Dimitri McKetney, CTE Program Director at Robert Goddard High School, remarked, “It was a truly impactful experience. From the moment they saw their school’s name on a Broadway marquee to the insightful sessions throughout the day, the students gained a new appreciation and understanding of the opportunities available at a company like Paramount.”

Paramount remains dedicated to using the power of content to drive positive change, and its continued involvement in Career Discovery Week reinforces that commitment.
