KFC South Africa’s Add Hope Feeds 1.2M Children Amid Global Hunger Efforts

07/14/2025

May 28 marked World Hunger Day, a global initiative aimed at raising awareness and driving action to combat food insecurity. At Yum!, supporting communities through nourishment is a key part of how we strive to Serve Up Good every day. Since 1992, Yum! has contributed over 215 million pounds of food to people in need through initiatives like the Harvest program.

A standout example of this commitment is KFC South Africa’s Add Hope program. In South Africa, one in four children faces extreme food poverty, putting them at serious risk of malnutrition. Add Hope works to provide consistent meals to these children, giving them a chance to grow, learn, and succeed. Launched 16 years ago, the program has raised more than $66 million through customer donations and product sales, delivering an average of over 133,000 meals daily and reaching 1.2 million children across the country.
