Chemours Appoints Nathan Blom to Lead Liquid Cooling Innovation for Data Centers
Chemours, a global leader in chemistry-based solutions, has announced the appointment of Nathan Blom as Vice President of its Liquid Cooling division. With extensive experience in technology and data center infrastructure, Blom’s arrival strengthens Chemours’ focus on expanding its presence and driving innovation in the liquid cooling space.

Blom brings over 20 years of executive leadership experience, having led initiatives in business transformation and go-to-market strategies across tech and data infrastructure sectors. His appointment aligns with Chemours’ "Pathway to Thrive" growth plan, positioning liquid cooling as a major area of strategic importance and innovation.

“Nathan’s in-depth knowledge of liquid cooling and his strong track record in scaling advanced technologies make him a perfect fit to lead this critical portfolio,” said Gerardo Familiar, President of Chemours’ Advanced Performance Materials segment. “As we grow in this dynamic market, Nathan’s insights will help us deliver sustainable, high-performance solutions that reduce operational costs and environmental footprint for our customers.”

Before joining Chemours, Blom served as Co-CEO and Chief Commercial Officer at Iceotope Technologies, where he led commercial strategy, product development, and market expansion following the company’s successful Series B investment round. His earlier roles included leadership positions at Lenovo, where he was key to the integration and growth of the Data Center Group, and HP, where he managed OEM business development and sales across the Americas.

Commenting on his new role, Blom said, “Liquid cooling has become a central technology in the modern data center landscape. Chemours is uniquely positioned with cutting-edge capabilities that support ultra-efficient heat management and enable high-density computing. I’m thrilled to be part of a team known for delivering impactful innovations that align performance with sustainability and forward-thinking design.”

Blom holds an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary, and a Bachelor’s degree from Texas Lutheran University.

The Chemours Liquid Cooling product line includes Opteon, a two-phase immersion cooling solution with a global warming potential of just 10. This technology offers near-optimal power usage effectiveness (PUE), minimizes water consumption, cuts physical space requirements by 60%, and reduces energy use by up to 40%—including up to 90% reduction in cooling-specific energy consumption—compared to conventional methods.
