KeyBank Volunteers Support Hispanic Community in Cleveland on Neighbors Day
More than a dozen KeyBank employees in Cleveland have came together with paintbrushes, rakes, and brooms to volunteer at the Spanish American Committee (SAC) as part of Neighbors Make The Difference Day. Established in 1966, the SAC has played a vital role in supporting the Spanish/Hispanic population in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, and throughout Northeast Ohio. For more than 55 years, it has been helping low-income individuals and families achieve independence, making it the oldest Hispanic/Latino social service organization in Ohio.

The SAC offers assistance through five core programs, which include family support services, bilingual childcare, financial literacy education, housing support, workforce training, and adult learning opportunities such as English as a Second Language (ESOL) classes. Each year, the organization reaches more than 5,500 individuals and households.

KeyBank employees across Cleveland and the nation dedicate time annually to support nonprofits and uplift their communities. In 2025, Neighbors Make The Difference Day also marked a special milestone — aligning with KeyBank’s 200th anniversary, commemorating two centuries of commitment to its customers, employees, and neighborhoods.

This annual tradition began in 1991, when a group of KeyBank staff in Alaska organized volunteer efforts in their community. By 1993, the initiative had expanded to various regions served by the bank and was officially recognized as a day of employee volunteerism. Today, Neighbors Make The Difference Day stands as one of the premier corporate volunteer programs in the country.
