About the Guadalajara Facility:
Accelera, the zero-emissions arm of Cummins Inc., launched its state-of-the-art electrolyzer manufacturing plant in Guadalajara, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain, in October 2024.

Covering approximately 24,000 square meters (260,000 square feet), the €50 million facility stands as one of the largest dedicated sites for electrolyzer production globally. Initially capable of producing 500 megawatts (MW) of proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzers annually, it’s designed to scale up to over 1 gigawatt (GW) to meet increasing demand.

The plant currently employs around 150 skilled professionals, with plans to expand to 200 as production scales. In alignment with Accelera’s sustainability goals, the facility features 3,000 solar panels, a geothermal climate control system, and rainwater harvesting, allowing up to 70% of its energy requirements to be met on-site. This plant is a crucial step in bolstering green hydrogen production across Europe.
