Entergy Arkansas Awards Easterseals $18K for Energy-Efficiency Upgrades
Entergy Arkansas has granted Easterseals Arkansas more than $18,000 in incentives for completing energy-saving upgrades through the Entergy Solutions CitySmart program’s mission-focused initiative. Earlier this year, Easterseals wrapped up construction of its new Academy campus in West Little Rock and welcomed its first group of students in August.

Easterseals Arkansas, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and adults with disabilities, works to help individuals live, learn, work, and participate fully in their communities. Recognizing that many nonprofits lack the resources to invest in energy-efficiency improvements, Entergy Arkansas created Entergy Solutions to help reduce cost barriers and provide accessible, impactful energy-saving options for mission-driven organizations.

As part of the CitySmart program, Easterseals collaborated with Entergy Solutions staff and partners to ensure the new campus was designed with maximum efficiency in mind. The organization implemented energy-efficient LED lighting, advanced lighting controls, and upgraded HVAC systems. These efforts earned Easterseals $18,378.05 in incentives and resulted in 73,512.17 kilowatt-hours of energy savings.

“This is an exciting milestone for Easterseals, and we’re proud to have our new K–12 campus open and serving Central Arkansas students,” said Mac Bell, Vice President of Development and Communication at Easterseals. “Working with Entergy Arkansas’s CitySmart program gave us confidence that our facility is built for long-term efficiency.”

Laura Landreaux, CEO of Entergy Arkansas, added, “Serving on the Easterseals board for the past five years has allowed me to see firsthand the incredible impact of their work. Supporting an organization with such a powerful mission by helping reduce energy costs and improve efficiency is one of the most meaningful investments we can make.”

CitySmart, part of the broader Entergy Solutions portfolio, helps schools and municipal organizations enhance efficiency through improvements like upgraded HVAC equipment, commercial Wi-Fi thermostats, and modern lighting systems. The program identifies tailored energy-saving opportunities, prioritizes conservation measures, and guides participants toward long-term reductions in electricity use. Eligible organizations can earn incentives for completing qualifying projects.
