A 60 Minutes special, dedicated and educative as it was, examined the ever growing role that rare earth components play in our economy today. Applications for electric vehicles, highly advanced water treatments, PDAs, tablets, and defense or resistance frameworks and especially clean-energy are relied upon to build exponentially and may abandon a few speculators waiting for a chance to take advantage of it. On the other hand, merchandise based commercial ventures aren’t generally productive and these speculations are not for the faint of heart.
