Whole Planet Foundation launches Poverty is Unnecessary Project for 2022

The annual program is aimed alleviating global poverty.


Every October, Whole Planet Foundation recognizes its global impact on poverty and the partners who help it achieve its goals. Whole Foods Market established the Whole Planet Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to alleviating global poverty through microcredit in countries where the company sources products, in 2005.

The Poverty is Unnecessary Project highlights Poverty is Unnecessary Fund supplier donors who pledge to donate $25,000 each year, culminating in the foundation's signature event to alleviate poverty.

The Whole Planet Foundation's annual Party With a Purpose commemorates the Foundation's inception and global impact. Thanks to Presenting Sponsor Papyrus-Recycled Greetings, this local and global in-person and online auction is open for bidding between October 17-21, with plenty of items available at starting bids of $10 and $15. A dinner for two at Carbone Dallas with a hotel stay donated by Carbone Fine Foods and an EcoReco L5+ foldable electric scooter with Heritage helmet donated by Lundberg Family Farms, both Silver Sponsors this year, are among the other item highlights.

Additionally, registered attendees will be able to bid on artisan goods sourced from microcredit clients and social enterprises linked to the Foundation's global network of microfinance partners.
