Wesco Volunteers Build Sustainable Homes with Austin Habitat for Humanity

Wesco team members were honored to take part in the 39th Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, organized by Austin Habitat for Humanity from October 26–31, 2025. The event brought together over 1,000 volunteers from around the globe to construct 25 new homes in Whisper Valley. Each home was built with a commitment to long-term affordability, emphasizing energy efficiency and high-quality design to help homeowners save on costs now and in the future.

As a Dream Maker sponsor, Wesco supported the initiative through both financial contributions and by sending eight volunteers daily to assist with the construction. The team helped build homes using durable, high-performance materials and techniques aimed at reducing maintenance needs and enhancing longevity. Every home is equipped with solar panels, allowing residents to lower energy bills and contribute to a more sustainable environment.

“Community support is a cornerstone of Wesco Cares,” said Chris Wolf, Wesco’s Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, and Wesco Cares Executive Sponsor. “We’re proud to have been part of such a meaningful project and deeply appreciate our employees who dedicated their time and effort to create lasting change.”

Beyond the homes, Whisper Valley will include Signature Park, a 600-acre green space featuring a 26-mile trail system, community gardens, and on-site schools — setting a new standard for sustainable community development in the region.
